Jeff Kasper is an artist, writer, and educator. He works with the tools and techniques of design, contemplative practices, and community engagement, to create public art, publications, open editions, audio storytelling, workshops, and participatory learning projects. His artworks feature dialogical, reflective, and instructional texts that prompt meditation, relationship building, and serious play. Based on his own lived experiences and observations, much of his recent projects explore topics of support, safety, and proximity within the context of mental health, chronic illness, and disability. His recent exhibitions and public programs have been presented with New York City Department of Parks & Recreation, Meta Open Arts, Tufts University Art Galleries, CUE Art Foundation, moCa Cleveland, and Queens Museum, among others. He has received residencies, awards, and fellowships from New England Foundation for the Arts, National Art Strategies (NAS), Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts, Assets for Artists, and Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts. Kasper is Associate Professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in the Department of Art.
